BURAN LESLIE REDDING, 96, of Valdosta died on Monday, February 28, 2005 at his daughter’s home in Newberry, Florida after brief illness. He was born on November 28, 1908 in Hahira to the late Thomas Leslie and Hattie Elizabeth Redding and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mr. Redding was a member of the First Assembly of God of Valdosta and was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired civil service worker from Moody Air Force Base. He was a founding member of the Valdosta CB Club and enjoyed working on CB radios for many years. Mr. Redding was a beloved father and grandfather who never met a stranger and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Herman and Betty Lou Redding of Valdosta, a daughter and son in law, Jeanette and Billy Maye of Newberry, Fla., a daughter in law, Helen Redding of Hahira, 10-grandsons, 24-great grandchildren, 2-great great grandchildren, two sisters, Prudence Bell of Valdosta and Elizabeth Walker of Brunswick and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Redding was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Myrlee Redding, two sons, Harold Edward Redding and Tony Redding, a daughter, Margie Futch and three brothers, Brooks Redding, Randall Redding and Veron Redding.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Thursday, March 3, 2005 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Cotterill, Rev. Jimmy White and Bro. Henry Rodgers officiating. Entombment will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
