Brunell Fiveash Dykes, 100, of Dasher died Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Lakehaven Nursing Home. She was born in Hahira on June 20, 1916 to the late William Joseph and Kate Matilda Martin Fiveash. Mrs. Dykes was a member of Airport Church of Christ. She worked as a registered nurse for forty years and retired after working for twenty seven years with the late Dr. Alton Johnson.
Survivors include three sons and daughters in law, Clint and Ruth Dykes of Clyattville, Billy and Faye Dykes of Dasher, Steve and Carla Dykes of Valdosta; grandchildren, Jeremy Dykes of Nashville, TN, Leah Arroyo of Valdosta, Kami and Nick Copeland of Valdosta, Gabe and Kristin Dykes of Valdosta, Blake and Sophie Dykes of Valdosta; great grandchildren, Kady Anne Copeland, Kallie Mae Copeland, Savannah Dykes, Anson Dykes, Levi Dykes, Annabelle Dykes; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Franklin (Pete) Dykes, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. E. Dean Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Dasher Cemetery.
