Brenda Mayes

Brenda Mayes, 84, of Valdosta passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Lakehaven Nursing Home after a short illness. She was born in Chester, England on November 12, 1933 to the late Albert and Nellie Ward. She was an active member of the Valdosta Touchdown Club and an avid Wild Cat fan.
Survivors include three children, daughters and sons-in-law, Susan & George Crane of Jacksonville, FL, Cindy & Troy Broadie of Centerville, GA, son and daughter-in-law, Patrick & Jennifer Mayes of Valdosta, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two sisters. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband William Henry Mayes and son Steve Mayes.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Schappaugh officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 pm until funeral time.
