Brenda Cheryl O'Keefe

On December 30, 2023, Brenda Cheryl O’Keefe, age 67, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at Langdale Hospice House following a brief illness. She was a faithful servant of the Lord, an amazing mother, and a proud “MeMe.”

Born to Larry and Loudell Eidson on December 29, 1956, in Valdosta, Georgia, Brenda had the most generous heart, gentle spirit, and strong work ethic. She worked for many years at Levi Strauss & Co. in Valdosta before beginning a 25-year career, touching the lives of many patients as a caring, compassionate, and exceptional nurse. She recently retired and looked forward to spending her days at her favorite place, home, with her family. To know Brenda was to love her and to see that she loved you back in the biggest way possible. Her grandchildren and dog, Bella, were her heart and soul. She generously shared her God-given talents for crafts, cooking, sewing, and working outdoors. She gave her all in everything that she did.

She is survived by her mother Loudell Eidson; daughter Shannon McGee; son and daughter-in-law Jesse and Nikki O’Keefe; grandchildren Colby and Harley McGee and Cali O’Keefe, all of Hahira, Georgia, brother and sister-in-law Dennis Eidson and Linda Randolph of Trenton, South Carolina, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father Larry Eidson.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2023, at 4 PM at Carson McLane Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive visitors an hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Brenda’s honor to the Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation designated to Appendix Cancer Treatment and Research.
