Brenda A. Dennis, age 73, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2017 at her home in Orlando, with her daughters by her side. Born December 24, 1943 in New Orleans to the late Bernard and Myrtle Asevado, Brenda grew up in Yscloskey, Louisiana and was the eldest of four children. She and her husband, Everett Alan Dennis, lived in Valdosta for 41 years, where Brenda worked for the Social Security Administration. She was an active band booster for her daughters for over 10 years and held season tickets with her husband to watch the Lowndes Vikings long after their daughters graduated. She loved making her home beautiful, enjoyed spending time with her husband and friends outdoors, and, above all, was devoted to her family. In June of 2015 she and her husband, Alan, moved to Orlando to be closer to their daughters, son-in-law, and granddaughter.
Brenda leaves behind daughter Angela, daughter Shelly (Kenny) Goodwin, granddaughter Hailey, and son-in-law Craig Carruthers. She was preceded in death by her husband Alan, daughter Sherie Carruthers, and brother Lionel Asevado. She is also survived by her sister Kathy (CJ) Otillio and brother Glen (Sheila) Asevado. The family would also like to offer a special thank you to her caregivers.
