Bobby Ray Sapp, 64, of Hahira died Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at his home. He was born on January 17, 1950 in Valdosta to the late John Henry and Kathryn Everett Sapp and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mr. Sapp was a retired mechanic with Georgia Power Company for thirty seven years. He loved to fish, watch football and work in his shop.
Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Stephanie and Jeff Rochester of Quitman, Kim and Michael Taylor of Southport, FL, five grandchildren, Neil Rochester, Eli Rochester, Bryce Taylor, Madison Taylor and Morgan Taylor, sister and brother in law, Judy and Pete Cofield of Valdosta; brother, Curtis Sapp of Valdosta; brother in law, Robert Rewis of Statenville; sisters in law, Paula Barnes of Valdosta and Jan Simpson of Adel and an aunt, Betty Taylor of Hahira. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynn Moran Sapp, a son, Shannon Sapp, a sister, Susan Rewis, paternal grandparents, Bessie Catoe Sapp, Dewey and Bethany Sapp and maternal grandparents, Sam and Stella Everett, mother in law and stepfather in law, Frances Taylor Simpson and W. Russell Simpson and father in law, William L. Moran and a brother in law, Buddy Moran.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Saturday, November 1, 2014 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Charles McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery in Morven. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
