Bobby Wilkins, 75, of Valdosta, died on Monday, October 28, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born on May 30, 1949, in Hahira to the late William Joseph Sr., and Marie Townsend Wilkins. Bobby was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a retired mechanic and truck driver. As a mechanic, he worked with Langdale Ford and Blanton’s Garage, and Griffin Ford before venturing out on his own and drove trucks for many different companies over the years but ended his truck driving days with C R England Trucking Company. Bobby also worked in rug sales for a time. He was a member of Ousley Baptist Church.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dorothy Wilkins of Valdosta; his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Patrick Willaford of Valdosta; his son, Nathan Wilkins (Kaneisha) of Camilla, Georgia; his grandchildren, Adeline Musgrove, Austin Musgrove, Ben Musgrove, William Musgrove and Luke Musgrove; his sister, Brenda Guest of Hahira and his mother-in-law, Inez Croft of Valdosta. He was preceded by his daughter, Bobbie Jean Musgrove; a sister, Gloria Jean Williams and his brother, William Joseph (Bill) Wilkins, Jr. and his father-in-law, Ray Croft
A celebration of life service for Bobby Wilkins will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Barker and Pastor Ike Jefferson officiating.
