Bobby Joe Webb, 70, of Hahira, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. A lifelong resident of Hahira, he was born on December 3, 1935 to the late Aaron C. and Susan Hattie McDonald Webb. Mr. Webb was a retired contruction worker, served from 1953 until 1955 in the United States Army and was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Hall Webb of Hahira, three sons and two daughters in law, Jason and Cindy Webb of Mayday, Joey and Jennifer Webb and Randy Webb of Hahira, two stepsons and one step daughter in law, William Graham of Ray City and Steve and Sheri Smith of Ocilla, one step daughter, Teresa Byrd of Enigma, twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one sister in law, Mary C. Webb of Valdosta, three lifelong friends, Melba Dean Sorrell Locher, Doris Scallorn and Bill Rountree, several other family and friends. Mr. Webb is preceded in death by his brother, Carrel Webb, three sisters, Lenora Lawson, Inez Boone and Connie Becton.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2006 at eleven a. m. at the graveside in Friendship Cemetery with Reverend Billy Hall and Reverend Hardy Solomon officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p. m. Friday at the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at mclanefuneralservices.com.
