Bobby Green, 59, of Ray City, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014, at his home.
He was born August 14, 1954 in Valdosta, a son of the late Elton Melvin and Emma Elizabeth Peace Green. Bobby graduated from Lowndes High School with the Class of 1973 and worked for the Lowndes County Board of Commissioners for thirty-eight years, retiring as Road Superintendent. A member and door greeter at Abundant Life Assembly of God, Nashville, Bobby loved the Lord, his family and church family, and he enjoyed reading the newspaper.
Bobby is survived by his wife of nine years, Melissa Green; a daughter, Sarah Farmer; a son, Guy Farmer, all of Ray City; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Betty McCowan of Valdosta; brother and sister-in-law, Walt and Beth Green of Hahira; two nephews, Chris and Jessica Delk of Valdosta, and Ryan Green of Hahira; four nieces, Amie Berrian and Dimiano of Valdosta, and Brandi Hendley and Clint of Valdosta, Jennifer McCowan and Cindy McCowan, both of Valdosta; sister-in-law, Melinda and Greg Ivey of Valdosta; mother-in-law, Janet Neeley of Valdosta; two brother-in-laws, Edward Neeley and Evie of Ohio, and Charles Neeley and Gloria of Italy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Becky Delk.
The Funeral Service for Mr. Green will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Abundant Life Assembly of God, Nashville, with Pastor Raymond Cason and Bro. Michael Harper officiating. Interment will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Carson McLane Funeral Home, Valdosta.
