Bobby Forte

Charles Robert "Bobby" Forte, 84, of Barney, passed away at his residence on November 23, 2015 He was born December 31, 1930 in Hahira to the late Thomas Alton and Minion Hendry Forte and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mr. Forte worked in the timber industry for most of his life and upon retirement he enjoyed spending time fishing and woodworking. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Mr. Forte is survived by his daughter, Susan Forte of Adel; his son and daughter in law, Charles and Carol Ann Forte of Barney; two grandchildren, Chris and Angie Forte of Barney, Julie Rogers of Adel; four great grandsons, Cole Rogers, Caleb Rogers, Cody Forte and Case Forte; his brother, June Forte of Valdosta; his sister, Virginia Forte Weldon of Valdosta. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Hazel Touchton Forte; two sisters, Mittie Forte Kitchen and Bernice Forte Vigil.

Funeral services for Bobby Forte will be held at 1 pm, Wednesday, November 25, 2015 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with Elder Thad Marshall and Rev. Roger Mays officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Hahira. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 11 am at the funeral home.
