Bobby Darrell Swindle

Bobby Darrell Swindle, 79, of Valdosta died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. He was born in Dover, Florida on May 30, 1936, a son of the late Beachel Merle Swindle and the late Ibbie Trovel Swindle Gause and Bernise Lunsford Gause. Mr. Swindle lived in Ocala, Florida before moving to Valdosta in 1966 and was a retired distributor with Interstate Engineering Company. He enjoyed playing golf, restoring antique cars and playing checkers on the computer. Mr. Swindle loved telling stories and eating ice cream. His passion in life was his wife, Joyce of 58 years and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of the Central Avenue Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ann Fant Swindle; his son and daughter in law, Robert Darrell Swindle II and Laura Swindle all of Valdosta; his daughter and son in law, Dana Swindle Boruff and Dean Boruff of Hahira; his grandchildren, Devan B. and Justin Martin, Aralee J. and Brandon Smith, Dane A. Boruff, Alayna N. Swindle, Darby A. Boruff, Robert Darrell Swindle, III all of Valdosta; his great granddaughters, Bella Kate Mims and Audrey Elise Patera both of Valdosta; his sister, Dottie Del Castillo of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Gail Gause and his brother, Rodney Lunsford Gause.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, January 18, 2016 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Bryan Jarvis and Mr. John Klimko officiating. Entombment will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-6pm at the funeral home.
