Bob D. Gould of Valdosta passed away Tuesday at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in 1936 in Hamilton, Ohio, to Ira and Frances (Houston) Gould, he graduated from Hamilton High, attended Miami University (Ohio) and the Art Academy of Cincinnati, and served in the Air Force National Guard. He worked at Mosler Safe Company for 20 years before moving to Valdosta and joining Saft America, from which he retired in 1996 as Executive Vice President.
He is survived by Lee, his wife of 53 years; daughters Michelle and Angela of Gainesville, Florida; sister, Wilma Schumacher of Cincinnati, Ohio; niece Cathy Carpenter of Palm Coast, Florida; nephew Dr. Edward Gould, of Cincinnati, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. He is predeceased by his brother Ira Gould; sister, Opal Lutkehaus, and an infant daughter, Carrie.
Services will be at Carson McLane Funeral Home Friday, May 29th, with a visitation at noon and funeral at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Chris Michael will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church of Valdosta, the Lowndes County Humane Society, and the American Diabetes Association.
