Blanche Nasrallah Dennis, 83, of Valdosta died on Sunday, May 10, 2009 at South Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on April 11, 1926 to the late Habeeb and Frangia Nasrallah and has been a resident of Valdosta since 1949. She worked with her late husband, Abraham Dennis, many years in the family business, Dennis Food Store. She was a record keeper for the small claims court at the Lowndes County courthouse. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where she was very active in the Women's Auxillary of the Knights of Columbus and other activities of the parish. She will be remembered for her strong faith in the Lord, and her joy in cooking for her family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and James Norris of Sarasota, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Rodney Moore of Lilburn, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, James and Ellen Dennis of Alpharetta, Georgia; daughter, Jeanne M. Dennis of Atlanta; grandchildren and their spouses, Ashley and Daniel Perkins of Alpharetta, Matt Moore of Nashville, Tennessee, Carly Dennis, Morgan Dennis and Kendall Dennis all of Alpharetta; two sisters, Mildred Hanna of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, and Virginia McConnell of Jacksonville, Florida; a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Annie Nasrallah of Jacksonville; brother-in-law, David Dennis of Valdosta; a niece, Jackie Dennis of Valdosta, niece, Sallie Dennis of Atlanta, a nephew and his wife, Sam and Hala Dennis of Valdosta, and niece and her husband, Mimi and Danny Duke of Birmingham, Alabama.
Services for Blanche Nasrallah Dennis will be held at 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Marvin LeFrois officiating. The burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens. A rosary will be held beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at St. John's with a visitation to follow until 9 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John Catholic Church Building Fund at 800 Gornto Road, Valdosta Georgia, 31602.
