Blanche G. Blanton, 88, of Clyattville, died Monday, November 28, 2016 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Suwanee County, FL on January 15, 1928 to the late George James Grinstead and Henrietta Jackson Grinstead. Ms. Blanton was a seamstress. She was a member of the United Methodist Women at Clyattville United Methodist Church and a member of the Golden Age Sunday School class. Ms. Blanton is a member of the Central Avenue Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, chrocheting, loved to read and was a good cook.
Survivors include two daughters and one son in law, Libby Jean Blanton, Laura Nell and Buddy Stephenson, all of Valdosta, three grandsons, Tripp Stephenson of Valdosta, Scott Stephenson of Clyattville, Bart Stephenson (Casey) of Hahira, three great granddaughters, Kimberly Hope Stephenson, Kylie Spencer and Isabella McKinley Stephenson, three sisters and one brother in law, Betty Jo Kight of Branford, FL, Ruth Elder Sheffield of Jacksonville, FL, Wanda Jane and Arnold O'Steen of Bell, FL, sister in law, Mona Lee Grinstead of Branford, FL, numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers in law, L. V. and William L. Vann, Christine and Walter Lane, Willie Sheffield, two brothers and one sister in law, Columbus and Carolyn Grinstead and J. D. Grinstead.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 1, 2016 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. John Klimko officiating. Burial will follow at Redland Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends from ten a. m. until eleven a. m. prior to the service.
