Blanche Coody Mcgill

Blanche Coody McGill, 82, of Valdosta, formerly of Tifton, died Sunday, January 6, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center. Born on July 14, 1925 in Pinetta, FL, she was the daughter of the late Lott and Lorena Jordan Coody. Mrs. McGill was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and George Garnett of Valdosta, Lori and Steve Spradley of Byron, Pamela and Jeff Giddens of Macon; one son, A. Wayne Coody of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren, Jerry and Gail Garnett of Valdosta, Stephanie Spradley and Josie Spradley, both of Byron, Elizabeth Coody of Valdosta and Josh Cook of Tifton; one great grandchild, Trent Garnett of Valdosta; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, A.C. Coody and Marvin McGill.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Lehman and Rev. Nathan Spradley officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Pinetta, FL. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
