Blake F. Sorenson

Blake F. Sorenson, 75, of Valdosta died on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Lakehaven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Born in Brooklyn, New York on November 11, 1934, he was the son of the late William and Margaret Blake Sorenson. An Army veteran and a former Daytona Beach Policeman he had made his home in Valdosta for the past 30 years where he had owned Mobilephone and Beeper, Inc./A-1 Communications. He was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church. Blake was a people person and loved to help those in need.

Survivors are his wife, Betty Suddeth Sorenson of Valdosta, step daughter, Susan Clark of Valdosta, step son and his wife, Richard and Lynne Clark of the United Kingdom; brother and sister in law, Jay and Deborah Webber of Tarpon Springs, Florida; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Sorenson was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Sorenson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Father Dan O'Connell will officiate. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
