Billie Starr

Billie Starr, 89 of Valdosta and formerly of Miami, died on Sunday, November 13, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on March 21, 1916 in Atlanta, GA to the late George H. and Helen Elrod and was the widow of Richard L. Starr, Sr. She was a retired Bridal Consultant and Buyer for Jordan-Marsh in Miami. Mrs. Starr was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club in Miami, a member of Natives of Dade and a member of First Methodist Church of Coral Gables. Billie will always be fondly remembered for her flair for fashion, independent spirit and love of live.

Survivors are one daughter-in-law, Audrey Davis Starr of Valdosta; three grandsons and one granddaughter-in-law, Richard Micah Starr and special friend, Amy Miller, Matthew Noah Starr and fiancé, Brittany Dorsett, Mark Henry Starr and his wife, Brooke; and a special friend and caregiver, Carole Cosby of Valdosta. She was also preceded in death by her son, Richard L. Starr, Jr., two sisters, two brothers and beloved poodle, Charlie.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Flagler Memorial Park in Miami on Thursday, November 17, 2005 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
