Billi Fae Lewis Bius, 76, of Valdosta went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 17, 2013, surrounded by her loved ones in her cherished home of 25 years. Born in Norman Park, GA, on May 26, 1936, she was the eldest daughter of the late Wilburn and Collie Lewis. She completed her two year degree at Norman Junior College and her Bachelor of Science at Georgia State College for Women in Home Economics.
During her time at Norman Junior College, she met and dated Wayne Bius, a tall basketball & baseball player from Moultrie. Married in June of 1960, she began a lifelong commitment of serving alongside her husband in the communities they lived in and raising a family to know and walk with Jesus; together they taught young married Sunday School classes, youth groups, started the Singles Ministry at Northside Baptist Church, Valdosta, served on the Missions Committee and made many short term missions trips, most recently to serve churches in Reno and Virginia City, Nevada.
She is survived and loved by her sweetheart of 52 years, Wayne Bius of Valdosta, twin daughters Lesli Bius of Valdosta and Lorna Bius of Denver, Colorado; two sons, Jon Bius (Christy) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Joel Bius (Leigh) of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; two sisters and brother-n-laws, Carol Bailey (Clay) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Nan Coan (Laurice) of Villa Rica, Georgia, two brothers and sister-in-laws, Steve Lewis (Pat) of Oxford, Mississippi and Vince Lewis (Lisa) of Thomasville, Georgia; grandchildren Robert Bius and Melissa Bius of Parkton, North Carolina, Jacob Bius and Brooks Bius of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, nephews and nieces David Bailey (Nadine) of (Knoxville, TN), Donna Ewing of (Knoxville, TN), Brian Coan (Julie) of Villa Rica, GA, Jo Lynn Coan Scott of Las Vegas, Nevada, Bishop (Nicole) Lewis and Mason Lewis of Oxford, Mississippi, Joseph Lewis (Elizabeth) of Thomasville and Erin Nestale (Johnny) of Thomasville.
She cherished her place in the Bius family of Moultrie, Georgia, sister in law of Wanda Green (Wallace) of Valdosta, Larry Bius (Gwen) of Albany, Georgia, Don (Bridgette) Bius of Tampa, FL, Gwyned Bius of Tucker, GA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved in-laws, Vernon (Slim) and Merle Bius. She also leaves many dearly loved couples and singles from the Singles Ministry whom she was so proud to love and serve.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bius will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Northside Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Douglas Reddick, Dr. James Soles, and Reverend Rick Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
