Bill Belote

Bill Belote, 57, of Calhoun, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Gordon Hospital, Calhoun.

He was born July 9, 1954 in Valdosta, the son of the late Willard and Grace Devereux Belote. He graduated from Lowndes High School with the Class of 1972 and honorably served in the U.S. Army for fifteen years. Bill was an avid outdoorsman and had made many close friends while living in Calhoun/Gordon County for the past fifteen years.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Dr. Sandra and Jerry Dickson of Valdosta; his nephew and wife, Scott and Renee Dickson of Valdosta; great-niece and great-nephews, Anieyssa, Bardin, Weston (Bill's Godson) and Kinnon Dickson of Valdosta; step-children, Dennis and Kathy Wells of Arkansas, Melanie Wells of Calhoun, Jeremy and Kendra Wells of Calhoun, Kimberly Roe of Calhoun, and Derrick Roe of Arkansas; grandchildren, Tyler, Jesse, and Amilee Wells, Gage and Jed Rhodes, Bridgett and Bobby Vaughn, Meliah Wells, Kelsey Dockery, Javen Wells, Logan, Makaela and Lacey Bailey; and many friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Valdosta, with Brother Bob Ellis officiating. Bill's family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Friends are also invited to attend a Memorial Service for Bill at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2012, at Meadowdale Baptist Church, Calhoun.
