Betty Vincie Harper, 72, of Valdosta, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. She passed away peacefully at Smith Northview Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born November 11, 1939 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lena Green. Betty was a precious wife, wonderful mother and grandmother. She dedicated her life to making others happy and was always the life of the party.
She is survived by her husband of fifty seven years, Thomas F. Harper of Valdosta, one son and daughter in law, Frankie and Livia Harper of Hahira, three daughters and sons in law, Vicki and Glen Sutton, Debbie and Steve Akins and Anita and David Whitmer all of Valdosta, and a son in law, Glenn Frier of Valdosta, ten grandchildren, Dewayne Sutton, Stepheny (Richie) Pollock, Stephen Akins, Thomas (Stefanie) Sutton, Bryan Deloach, Jonathan Harper, Gregory Frier, Joseph Whitmer, Rachael Whitmer and Danielle Harper, ten great grandchildren, one brother, Billy (Opal) Green of Frostproof, FL, one sister in law, Netti Gowan of Blakely, GA, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by a precious daughter, Theresa Faith Frier, her father and mother.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2012 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Brett Jarriel, Reverend Raymond Gabbard and Reverend Bobby Tatum officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from five until seven p. m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed online at www.mclanecares .com.
