Betty Sue Sewell Pilon, 70, of Valdosta died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 20, 2018 while vacationing in New Orleans with her family. She was born on April 22, 1947 in Valdosta to the late William A. and Verna Lee Godwin Sewell. Mrs. Pilon attended First Baptist Church in Nashville. She was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves and basketball. She loved spending time with family and giving to others. Mrs. Pilon never met a stranger and loved animals.
Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Danita (Shannon) Downey of Seminole, FL, Pam (Seab) Temples of Valdosta; four beloved grandchildren, Ryan Downey, Rileigh Downey, Zachary Temples, Tyler Temples; her siblings, Sara Lee (Ralph) Hendrix of Valdosta, Billie Ann Suddeth of Marietta, William Errol (Jackie) Sewell of Mansfield, GA, Laverne (Al) Prosser of Scranton, SC, Vernon Ashley Sewell of Nashville, GA, Jannace Faye Vaughn of Ray City, Harry Samuel (Vicki) Sewell of Valdosta; sister in law, Linda Sewell of Glasgow, KY and brother in law, Melvin Morris of Nashville, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, her beloved dog, Molly and her cat, Coco; Mandi Davidson of Valdosta whom she considered as a daughter. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Gail Willene Morris, Jennifer Rose Cabaniss, Gilbert Wayne Sewell.
Graveside services will be held at 10am, Saturday, January 27, 2018 at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
