Betty Sue Horne Boykin, 71, of Hahira died Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Tifton. She was born in Hahira on March 18, 1940 to the late Charlie and Esther Millirons Horne. Mrs. Boykin was a member of the Pineview Baptist Church and a graduate of Hahira High School. She was employed at Mickey's Grocery Store as a cashier for many years. Mrs. Boykin was a good mama and loved her family very much.
Survivors include her five sons and four daughters in law, Andy and Sharon Boykin, Roger and Jennifer Boykin, Joe Boykin, Pete and Rachel Boykin, Tony and Patricia Boykin all of Hahira, her daughter and son in law, Amy and Michael Hendley of Tifton, 16-grandchildren, 1-great grandchild, two brothers and sisters in law, Donald and Margaret Horne of Cecil, Jake and Priscilla Horne of Valdosta, sister and brother in law, Dorothy and Ken Godwin of Valdosta and a special friend, Yvonne Castleberry of Hahira. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Boykin, a brother, Bo Horne and a sister, Sylvia Cardin.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, February 18, 2012 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Boykin and Rev. Charlie Scarbrough officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
