Betty Marsh Redkevitch, 91, was called home to be with her Lord, Sunday, July 5, 2020. She was born July 17, 1928 in Greensboro, NC, but has called Valdosta home for the past 60 years. Betty worked at South Georgia Medical Center for over 28 years before her retirement.
As an active member of First Baptist Church, Valdosta, she sang in the Senior Choir and volunteered with the food ministry.
In her younger years, Betty enjoyed bowling, including participating in many tournaments, and was an avid bridge player which she enjoyed into her late 80's.
She was kind, compassionate and always willing to help someone in need. She loved her coffee and enjoyed fellowshipping with all her friends at The Scoop with her half a chicken salad sandwich and the largest cookie.
She is survived by her three children: Cathy Voigt, Valdosta, GA; Neil (& Ella) Redkevitch, Nashville, TN; Lynn (& Mickey) Taylor, Marietta, GA; many grandchildren: Kristy Ethridge, Paul (& Miku) Redkevitch, Michelle (& Richie) Moore and Michael Taylor; And, five great-grandchildren: Lane Ethridge, Ethan Ethridge, Jaimi Redkevitch, Luke Moore, & Johnny Moore.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2020 at McLane Riverview Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Mac Weaver officiating and Rev. Dennis Massie with the closing prayer. Entombment will follow the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, P.O. Box 1727, Valdosta, GA, 31603.
