BETTY M. SMITH, 93, of Valdosta died Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at the Crestwood Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born on November 13, 1913 in Nashville to the late Lloyd and Rachel Ray Rustin and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Smith was a retired waitress and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Robert E. and Minda Phillips of Lancaster, PA., three grandchildren, Angelina Phillips, Michael Phillips and Lloyd Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack David Smith.

Graveside services will be held at 10am, Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Rev. Rick Williams officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
