Betty Lou Canady Williams

March 25, 1936 — September 4, 2016

Betty Lou Canady Williams, 80, of Valdosta went to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Lakehaven Nursing Home. She was born on March 25, 1936 in Ellenton, Georgia to the late George Arthur and Novella Fender Robinson. She was a member of the Westside Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School. She was a retired decorator with Home Interiors after forty years. Mrs. Williams loved cooking for her family, baking cakes, travelling and shopping.
Survivors include her husband, Paul L. Williams of Valdosta; sister and brother in law, Allie Jean and Larry Rigsby of Leesburg, GA; two sons and daughters in law, Andy and Pat Canady of Jacksonville, FL, Arthur and Charlene Canady of Monroe, GA; daughter and son in law, Andrea and Joey Adams of Adel, GA; grandchildren and their spouses, Leslie and Mike Mahon, Jason and Melissa Canady, Joshua and Melissa Adams all of Jacksonville, FL, Kristen and Chris Cunningham of Quitman, GA and Brianna Canady of Birmingham, AL; great grandchildren, Jessica, Cody, Ashlynn, Taylor, Riley, Kaylee, Jason, Brandon, Chloe, Frank, Andi; step daughter and step son in law, Marla and Danny Lewis of Moultrie; step grandchildren, Geri Kaye Huyett of Florida, Nikki and Michael Hudnall, Shawn Conley all of Moultrie; 8-step great grandchildren and 2-step great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Frank Canady, her brother, J. A. Robinson and a sister, Cecilia Graham.
Funeral services will be held at 10am, Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Ernie Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Buck Creek Cemetery in Norman Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Lupus Foundation of America or the charity of your choice.
