Betty Jo Dasher Cone

Betty Jo Dasher Cone, 84, of Valdosta, passed away Friday October 11, 2019 at Crestwood Nursing Home. She was born in Valdosta on December 17,1934 to the late Johnnie O. and Lillie Stallings Dasher. Betty Jo graduated from Pine Grove High School. She was retired from the Lowndes County Tag Office as well as the Social Security Administration where she worked as a claim’s representative for many years. She was an active member of the Central Avenue Church of Christ and a proud member of the Withlacoochee Quilters Guild.
She is survived by her children, Clay Copeland (Rozelle) of Canton, Michigan, Joe Copeland (Celia) and Jana Carter (Reagan) both of Valdosta; grandchildren, Dusty Carter, Dylan Carter, Dara Carter, Joseph Copeland (Ashlin), Nicole Gonzalez, all of Valdosta, Robby Copeland and Becky Copeland of Michigan; great grandchildren, Emma Gonzalez, Elena Sanchez, Hannah Copeland, and Jace Copeland of Valdosta; a brother and sister-in-law, Johnnie G. and Nan Dasher of Valdosta. She is preceded in death by three sisters, Juanice Wilkinson, Idora Willis, and Dorothy Parham Webb, and a grandson-in-law, Eric Gonzalez.
Funeral services for Betty Jo Cone will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Central Avenue Church of Christ with burial to follow at Cat Creek Cemetery.
