Betty Jean Maloney, long-term resident of Hahira, passed away in Valdosta on August 5, 2023. Born in Lenox, GA, on July 11, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Eugene Hall and Dorothy Cox Hall of Cook County, Georgia. With her warm outgoing personality, Betty was a natural at her job in the hospitality industry. She never met a stranger and had a special love for children. Spending time with her family, camping and fishing were her favorite things to do.
Survivors are her son, Louie Eugene Maloney of Melbourne, Florida, daughter, Tanya Marie Hill of Gastonia, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jeremy Wade (Barbie) Maloney of Gainesville, Georgia, Brandon (Mary) Maloney of Crestview, Florida, Lance Maloney of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Kenneth Hill of Portsmouth, Ohio, Jessica (Andrew) Murray of Bostic, North Carolina, Candice (Scott) Sutton of Las Vegas, Brittany Freeman of Hahira, Andrea (Derek) Carroll of Panama City, Florida, Alicia (Wayne) Harvey, Crystal (Chris) Engleby of Cocoa, Florida; twenty one great grandchildren; a brother, Randy (Sherry) Hall of Crawfordville, Florida, son-in-law, Henry Moran of Cocoa, Florida. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Raymond Maloney, her parents, a brother, Travis Hall, two daughters, Tammy Moran, and Cathy Maloney.
Services for Betty Jean Maloney will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the graveside at Friendship Cemetery. Mr. Randy Hall will lead the service. A visitation will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Martin/McLane Funeral Home in Hahira.
