Betty Jean Harrell, 80, of Valdosta died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Pearson, Georgia on September 13, 1935 to the late Wilson and Effie Herrin Bennett and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mrs. Harrell was retired from the Army Air Force Exchange at Moody Air Force Base and affiliated with Bemiss United Methodist Church. She loved crocheting and ceramics. Her loyalty to her family and friends and feisty ball of energy will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Bev and John Kincaid of Palm Bay, FL; her son and daughter in law, Tony and Lisa Harrell of Valdosta; her four grandchildren, Erica Kincaid, Spencer Kincaid, Katelyn Kincaid, Seth Harrell; her brother, Dob Bennett of Douglas; numerous nieces and nephews. Betty had many, many close friends she loved dearly. The family would like to express their appreciation to the CICU Nursing Staff at South Georgia Medical Center for the love and care of Mrs. Harrell.
Memorial services will be held at 1pm, Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Schappaugh officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Betty's name to the charity of choice.
