Betty Holcomb Browning, 67, of Lake Park, Georgia died Monday, April 16, 2012 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. She was born on August 30, 1944 in Quitman and had lived in this area for many years. Mrs. Browning was a member of the Francis Lake Baptist Church. She enjoyed travelling, fishing, feeding the birds, growing her flowers and cooking. Mrs. Browning loved spending time with her family and loved people.
Survivors include her husband, Clamon Browning of Lake Park, three daughters and son in law, Lesia Adams of Lake Park, Susan Bennett of Eustis, Fla., Krista and Lance Spangler of Valdosta, son and daughter in law, Clay and Emily Browning of Valdosta, her grandchildren, Chris Adams, Ashton NeSmith, Gretchen Bennett, Gregory Bennett, Kaleigh Spangler, Charleigh Spangler and Gavin Browning, great grandchildren, Desiree NeSmith, Kelsey NeSmith, Landon Hunter, Kassie Bennett and Gage Bennett, sisters and brother in law, Charlotte Cloud of Lake Park, Sue and David Moxley of Lake Park, her brother, Jimmy Rogers of St. Albans, WVA., sister and brother in law, Aloma and Randy Vose of Townsend, Montana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Fannie Lou Rogers of Barney, brother, Billy Rogers of Quincy, Fla., two sisters, Lynette Griffith Farran of Barefoot Bay, Fla. and Willene Rogers Holcomb.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Francis Lake Baptist Church with Rev. Eldridge Lyons and Rev. John Page officiating. A private family committal will be held at Morrison Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
