Betty Clayton Carlisle

Betty Clayton Carlisle, beloved mother and grandmother, 83, of Birmingham, Alabama and formerly of Lake Park died Friday, August 1, 2008 at the Anniston Regional Memorial Hospital in Anniston, Alabama after a lengthy illness. She was born on July 24, 1925 in Evansville, Indiana to the late D. G. and Pearl Evanson Clayton. Mrs. Carlisle was a retired secretary for the Economics Department at Valdosta State University and later worked for the law firm of H. B. Edwards and William Edwards. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include her daughter, Janet Price of Birmingham, Ala., her son and daughter in law, Mark and Holly Williams of Grenada, MS., her grandchildren, Lisa Hagood Clayton, Clayton Hagood both of Birmngham, Ala., Jamie Price of Valdosta, Faith Williams and Andrew Williams both of Grenada, MS., three great grandchildren, one niece and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, D. G. and Pearl Clayton and a brother, Joe Clayton all of Valdosta.
