Betty Alma Mixon, 91, of Hahira passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at her daughters’ residence in Lake Park. She was born on April 11, 1930 in Berrien County to the late A. B. Martin and Mary Elizabeth Ellis Martin. Betty loved her God and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She loved her family and was dedicated to her church and activities there, Naomi and “Triple L” especially. She loved to travel with “Happy Travelers” Seniors. Betty sold Avon for many many years and made a lot of friends.
She is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Sue and John Avera of Lake Park, Sherry and Chuck Williams of Hahira, grandchildren, Chad Morin (Stacy), Jennifer Morin Simpson (Ray), Stephen Morin (Heather), April Williams (Greg Paulo) and Ashley Williams, great grandchildren, Dalton Matthews, Jaden Matthews, Macie Morin, Jackson Morin, Trevor Terry, Mason Paulo, Breona Keen, James Bass and Andrea Gaskins, great great grandson, Eli Thrift, sisters, Kathryn Holm (her late husband – Lambert) of Valdosta, Pat Sadler (Russell) of Adel, brothers, Thomas Martin (his late wife – Barbara) of Hahira and Hubert Martin (Geneva) of Conyers, brother in law, Melvin Cash and sister in law, Amy Martin. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Melvin Mixon. Son, James Michael Mixon, sister, Louise Cash and brother, Robert (PeeWee) Martin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021 at eleven a. m. at Bethany Baptist Church with Dr. Clyde Stokes officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery. She will be placed in the church at ten a. m. The family will receive friends from five until seven p. m. Friday at the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira.
