Bettie Herring Dickey

Bettie Herring Dickey, 91, of Lake Park died Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Lakehaven Nursing Home. She was born on March 9, 1925 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Addie Cole Herring Pevehouse and lived in this area since 1954. Mrs. Dickey was an active member of the Lake Park United Methodist Church and the Lake Park Pathfinders until her health declined. She was retired as Lunchroom Manger from Lake Park Elementary School and active with the Lowndes County Schools Employee Food Service. Mrs. Dickey was a member of the Red Hats, a devout Lowndes Viking, Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldog Fan.
Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Bobby and Karen Dickey of Ft. Worth, TX; two daughters and a son in law, Janet Cothron of Valdosta, Jo Anne and Randy Jones of Hahira; daughter in law, Kathy Dickey Harvey of Jasper, FL; her grandchildren and their spouses, Brad Dickey, Jared and Stacy Dickey, Paige and Brett Faulkner, Jana and Troy Tullock, Jonathon Dickey, Robbie and Beth Jones, Trey and Brittany Cothron; her great grandchildren, Kendall Dickey, Kayden Dickey, Hana Missildine, Breana Missildine, Rylan Dickey, Braden Faulkner, Stella Dickey, Lyza Dickey, Reagan Cothron, Rhys Jones; her sister, Ann Wilson of Ft. Worth, TX; her niece, Suzanne Osburn of Ft. Worth, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. "Ed" Dickey and a son, Bill Dickey.
Graveside services will be held at 11am, Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Redland Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Richard Soper officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6-8pm at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home, 3119 W. Marion Ave., Lake Park, GA 31636.
