Betsy Lee Stephens

Betsy Lee Stephens, 90, of Dasher, died on Tuesday, November 07, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on September 19, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Lloyd and Evelyn Rector Gaines. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Avenue Church of Christ. Mrs. Stephens was a strong supporter of the Raintree Village Children’s Home.
Survivors include her two daughters and a son-in-law, Ann Marie Schultz of Columbus, Ohio, Lynne and John Robertson of Australia; her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Elaine Schultz of Annapolis, Maryland; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Susan Gaines of Ooltewah, Tennessee, and her sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Clifford Swensen of West Lafayette, Indiana; her many friends at Raintree Village. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Leo Schultz, and Ronald Stephens and son Lee Schultz.
Services for Betsy Lee Stephens will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2017 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. G.R. Holton and Mr. John Klimko officiating. The burial will follow in the Dasher Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be made to the Raintree Village Children’s Home at 3757 Johnston Road, Valdosta, Georgia 31601.
