Bert Paul Rutland, Sr.

Bert Paul Rutland, Sr., 76, of Lake Park, died on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Pruitt Lakehaven following a lengthy illness. He was born on April 3, 1948, in Dallas Texas, to the late Robert Hugh and Bertha Martin Rutland. Mr. Rutland had served many years in law enforcement having retired as the chief of police for the city of Lake Park. Mr. Rutland was a member of St. John the Baptist Masonic Lodge and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jason Otterbach of St. Augustine, Florida; his son and daughter-in-law, Bert Jr., and Jennifer Rutland of Lake Park; his grandchildren, Jason Otterbach, Jr., Jonathan Otterbach, Tiffany Rutland, Jacob Rutland, Isaac Rutland, and Joshua Rutland; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Riley and Rhonda Rutland and Pat and Triena Rutland; his partner, Sandra Campbell; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his wife, JoAnne Rutland, and his twin brother Bob Rutland.

Services for Bert Paul Rutland, Sr. will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024, in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home. The burial will follow in the Lake Park Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. McLane Lakewood
