Benny K. Kinchen, 56, of Lake Park, died suddenly on Friday, August 12, 2005, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born on September 22, 1948 in Plant City, FL he was the son of the late Charles & Mary Kinchen. He had been a lifelong resident of this area and was in the 1st graduating class from Lowndes High School in its current location. Mr. Kinchen was formerly a police officer in West Palm Beach, FL, a supervisor at Dowling Bag, a short order cook at The Kettle restaurant, and had currently been a caregiver to his mother in law and several of his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren & mother in law.<br><br>Survivors include his wife, Elaine Kinchen of Lake Park, daughter and son in law, Cynthia & Jeff Murrell of Valdosta and a daughter and her boyfriend, Denise Dickerson and Jeff Jernigan, both of Valdosta, two sons and daughters in law, Larry & Jewel Dickerson of Macon, and Christopher & April Dickerson of Augusta; nine very special grandchildren, Andrew Dickerson, Hunter Murrell, Caitlin Murrell, Emily Dickerson, Leigh Dickerson, Aliyah Dickerson, Larry (L.J.) Dickerson, Jr., Autumn Dickerson and Christopher Dickerson. Also surviving are two sisters and brothers in law, Linda & Juan Alonso of Key West, FL, Lena & Bill White of Lake Park; four brothers and sisters in law, Lloyd & Peggy Kinchen, and Mike Kinchen, all of Lake Park, Robert & Linda Taylor, of Tampa, FL, and Bobby & Etta Kinchen of Colorado Springs, CO, and his mother in law, Jo Ann Powell of Lake Park, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jimmy Kinchen. <br><br>Funeral services for Mr. Kinchen will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 in the chapel of McLane Lakewood Funeral Home. Rev. Keith Sandlin and Mr. Dennis Powell will officiate. Burial will follow at the Lake Park Cemetery.
