Benny Cooper Peace

Benny Cooper Peace, 77, of Valdosta died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Valdosta on January 15, 1933 to the late Elmer and Rita Cooper Peace and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mr. Peace was a Baptist, a veteran of the United States Army and a mechanic with Reames Concrete. He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. Mr. Peace was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a walking angel who loved to help people. He enjoyed gospel and bluegrass music and dancing.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Marilyn Hutto Warren of Jacksonville, Fla., Sharon Hutto Cofield and her fiance' Johnny Sexton of Echols County, Tillman Lavon Hutto of Valdosta, Debbie Peace Ravipong and her husband, Aut Ravipong of Valdosta, twelve grandchildren, Stacey Cofield Hall, Amy Marie Hutto, April Ravipong Thomas, Shellie Warren, Timothy Don Hutto, Leann Hutto, Jason Warren, Benny Daniel Ravipong, Dana Warren, Josh Warren, Andrew Joshua Hutto and Cooper Hutto, seven great grandchildren, Taylor Brooke Hall, Desirae Garcia, Dazirianne Hutto, Amado Hutto, T. J. Hutto, Hannah Christine Thomas and Lanie Elisabeth Thomas, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, special friend, Henrietta Courson of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Reynolds Peace and his sisters and brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Friday, October 15, 2010 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Lawrence Thomas officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow at Mt.
