Benny Becton

William Bennett "Benny" Becton, 75, of Hahira, died Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Langdale Hospice House. He was born in Barney, GA on February 12, 1936 to the late Bill and Bessie Becton. Mr. Becton was a retired heavy equipment operator from Union Local 37 – "Teamsters" of Baltimore, MD

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Becton of Hahira, children, Anita Stinson and her husband Daniel of Dublin, GA, Betty Cawley of Columbia, SC, Lucretia Noll of Gaston, SC, Tonia Becton and her husband Nook Nicewater, Sheila Brown and Benji Becton of Falling Waters, WV, Jennifer Wood and her husband Dolan of Dublin, GA, Ralph Disque and his wife Donna of Athens, GA, Ron Disque of Atlanta, Marc Disque of Atlanta, John Bass of Japan, Jason Bass and his wife Kristin of Atlanta, twenty seven grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers in law, Bonnie Duggan of Hahira, Barbara Jean and Angus Morrison of Orlando, Gloria and Walter Hall of Fernandina Beach, FL, three brothers and sisters in law, Tommy and Janie Becton of Hahira, Jerry and Betty Rose Becton of Hahira and Johnny and Dana Becton of Tyler, TX. Mr. Becton is preceded in death by one daughter, Debbie Darlene Becton and one son, Aubrey Becton.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 6, 2011 at eleven a. m. at the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with Reverend A. H. "Skip" Van Nus and Mr. Jerry Becton officiating. Burial will follow at Corinth Cemetery in Brooks County. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p. m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
