Bascom R. Parham, 79, of Valdosta, died Friday, October 21, 2005 at his residence. He was born in Lowndes County on September 1, 1926 to the late Thomas Edward and Armetta Duggan Parham. Mr. Parham was a retired produce manager from Colonial Stores and Harvey’s Supermarket’s, was in the Merchant Marine’s during World War II and a member of the North Valdosta Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Lorene Napier Parham of Valdosta, one daughter, Kaye Parham of Valdosta, one son and daughter in law, Jeff and Tammy Parham of Hahira, two grandsons, T. J. Parham and Matt Parham, one granddaughter, Rylie Parham, one brother and sister in law, Richard and Patricia Parham of Hahira and is preceded in death by two brothers, J. W. Parham and Chandler Parham and one sister, Thelma Parham.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 24, 2005 at two p. m. in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home.Mr. Nate Hagood, Mr. Gary Halcomb and Mr. Jimmy Parham will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Odyssey Hospice. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p. m. Sunday at the funeral home.
