Barney Lee Lumley, Sr., 75, of Valdosta, died at his residence on Saturday, May 03, 2008 after a short illness. Born in Swainsboro, Ga. to the late Albert and Maybelle Lumley, he was a U. S. Army veteran and was a retired truck driver for Roadway. He attended the Azalea City Church of God.
Mr. Lumley is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Dana and Jill Lumley of Atlanta, GA, and Tony Lumley and his companion Tracey Phillips and her children, Jonathan Denison and Savannah Phillips of Valdosta; Dana and Tony's mother, Janice Lumley; sisters and brother-in-law, Lila Mae Markham, and Faye and Julian Pearce of Jacksonville, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Lumley will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Lamar Gentry of Daystar Fellowship Church in Heflin, Al. officiating. The burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
