Barbara Lowry Pulliam, 83, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at South Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born on October 25, 1933 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Lepton and Nina Savage Lowry. Mrs. Pulliam was a homemaker and a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church and had been involved with the Fellowship Sunday school class. She was a loving caregiver who loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart and spent time with them both collectively and individually to make each one feel special and loved. She had served as a Pink Lady in years past, and loved to play bridge and golf.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Keith Adams of Moultrie, Sherry and Fred Buescher of Valdosta, and Terri and Rick Shierling also of Valdosta; grandchildren and their spouses, Lauren Adams of Moultrie, Brian and Sarah Adams of Moultrie, Whitney and Andrew Parks of Tampa, Florida, Adam Buescher of Atlanta, and Cameron and Shea Buescher of Valdosta; a great-grandson, Nicholas Shipley of Moultrie; two brothers and sister-in-law, Jim and Anita Lowry of Gainesville, Florida, and Steve Lowry of Hawthorne, Florida; a sister-in-law, Marlene Fulton of Salem, Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Berl D. Pulliam, and her sister, Patty L. Goossen.
Services for Barbara Lowry Pulliam will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. V.L. Daughtery and Rev. Hale Bishop officiating. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
