Barbara (Joan) Miller

Barbara "Joan" Cadle Miller, age 77, passed away in Valdosta, GA on February 12, 2012 at her Daughter's residence.
Joan was born November 15, 1934 in Orgas, WV; the eldest child of the late Richard F and Blanche Ferrell Cadle, and her siblings considered her "The Favorite One". She grew up with many cousins and friends but was especially close to her cousin, Lorene Connor; who she considered a sister. Joan graduated from Sherman High School in Seth, WV, 1952.
Joan held several vocations in her adult life. She volunteered at Air Force Base Hospitals, served as a cook in the public school systems and ended her career as Dietary Manager at Heritage House Nursing Home. She retired in 2004. After a 2 year retirement, she began a new vocation as "People Greeter" at Wal-Mart in Valdosta, GA and transferring to Wilmington, DE retiring in 2010. Ms. Miller was a member of New Harvest United Methodist Church.
Joan is survived by her 2 daughters: Barbara "Bobbie Sue" Miller of Valdosta, GA and Teresa "TC" Yarbrough of Wilmington, DE. Her grandchildren: Reece (Jacqueline) Yarbrough of Coolidge, GA and Ryan Yarbrough of Valdosta, GA. Her 2 great-grandchildren: Madeline and Paisley Yarbrough of Coolidge, GA. Her Sisters: Lorene Connor of Louisville, KY, Carol Guynn and Judy Cadle of Sylvester, WV. Her Brothers: John Cadle of Sylvester, WV and Doug (Carol) Cadle of Charleston, WV and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her youngest brother, Darrell Cadle.
Joan will be greatly missed by her special friends; Lena (Ray) Burkett, Teresa (Jim) Stamschror, Andy (Brittany) and Owen Stamschror, Scott Stamschror and many Church friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Carson McLane Funeral Home, on Wednesday, February 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, February 16th at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Hauser officiating. Interment services will take place at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 18th, at Pineview Cemetery in Orgas, WV.
