Barbara Jean Pittman

BARBARA JEAN PITTMAN, 69, of Valdosta died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Langdale Hospice House after a lengthy illness. She was born on February 27, 1938 in Berrien County to the late Wilbur and Mary Metts Minchew. Mrs. Pittman was a member of Open Bible Baptist Church and was associated with GAB for forty nine years.

Survivors include her husband, Mitchell Pittman of Valdosta, three sons and daughters in law, Kim and Martha Pittman of Thomasville, Kevin and Wanda Pittman, Craig and Lynn Pittman all of Valdosta, grandchildren, Kyle Pittman, Scott Pittman, Blake Pittman, Ashli Pittman, Kristopher Pittman, Amanda Pittman, Kristin Pittman and Bailey Anderson, three sisters, Winnie Thigpen of Jacksonville, Fla.,. Betty Sirmans of Ringold, Nina Killeen of Lake Park, three brothers, Jeff Minchew of Toccoa, Bill Minchew of Lake Park and Bobby Minchew of Willacoochee. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lola Hedges and two brothers, Leon Minchew and Rudolph Minchew.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Friday, February 15, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Pastor Carroll Joye officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-9pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia. Carson McLane Funeral Home.
