Barbara Jean Line Acuff

Barbara Jean Line Acuff, 79, of Valdosta, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at South Georgia Medical Center, after a short illness.

She was born March 21, 1931, a daughter of the late Alfred and Ruth Witt Line, in Knoxville, TN, where she graduated from Old Knoxville High School. Barbara was a member of the Lake Park Christian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

She has been an avid pen-pal for many years and always enjoyed writing and hearing from her friends. She loved her friends and enjoyed word search puzzles, cross-stitching, macramé, and other crafts. In her younger years she also enjoyed roller-skating.

Ms. Acuff is survived by one son, Richard Mark Acuff of Florida; one grandson, Cody Acuff; two sisters, Royce Conner of Knoxville, TN, and Carlus Hill of Poughkeepsie, NY; nieces and nephews, Kittie Wesley and husband Stephen of Murfreesboro, TN, Karen Kinder and husband Frank of Knoxville, TN, Steven Conner and wife Barbara of Knoxville, TN, Norman Conner and wife Giva of King George, VA, and Jackie Rein of Ft. Worth, TX; and her beloved dog, Lady. A special thank you is expressed to a very dear friend, Nancy Key of Ray City. She was predeceased a brother William Line of Knoxville.

A Memorial Service for Ms. Acuff will be held at 4:00 pm Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Lake Park Christian Church, with Pastor Aubrey Bussell officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Lynnhurst Cemetery, Knoxville, TN. There will be no visitation.
