Barbara Jean "Bj" Mccormick

Barbara Jean "BJ" McCormick, 75, of Valdosta died Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. She was born on August 15, 1938 in Ocala, Florida to the late S.W. and Myrtle Atkinson Lipscomb and had lived in Valdosta for fifty years. Mrs. McCormick was a member of Sardis Baptist Church, the Red Hat Society and the Valdosta Choral Guild.

Survivors include two daughters, Libby Bradford and her fiancé, George Sharp of Valdosta, Terry Beth and Bill Sexton of Jacksonville, Fla, her niece, Jean (Russell) Johnson of Jacksonville, Fl. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon C. McCormick.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Friday, January 31, 2014 at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Park with Rev. Garvie Nichols and Mr. Bryan Jarvis officiating. Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery in Nashville, GA. The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
