Barbara Greene Purdy Frampton

Barbara Greene Purdy Frampton, 86, of Valdosta died on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born on August 7, 1929 in Valdosta to the late Eugene and Iona Stephenson Greene and was a lifelong resident of Valdosta. Mrs. Frampton was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church. Barbara graduated from Valdosta High School on June 3, 1947 where she played in the band and on the basketball team. Barbara attended Georgia State Women's College in Valdosta and in 1949 transferred to South Georgia College in Douglas, Georgia. She was a past member of the Magnolia Garden Club, The Red Hat Fashion Divas and a member of the Elks Club for 60 years. Barbara enjoyed her family and friends and she never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her first husband of twenty eight years, Samuel Ray Purdy and her second husband of twenty two years, Bennie Jo Frampton and her brother, Harry Greene.
Survivors include her daughter, Kim Purdy Hughes; her son and daughter in law, Steve and Sue Purdy all of Valdosta; her grandchildren, Clint Purdy of Valdosta, Sam and Katie Purdy of Cordele, Alison and Dave Pina of Las Vegas, NV, Brooke Goodwin of Savannah, Chason and Tucker Pruitt, Alden Purdy, Colt Purdy, Ashley Hughes all of Valdosta; her great grandchildren, Rachel Fachini, Ansley Purdy, Brynsen Hughes, Landry Pina; her stepdaughters and stepson in law, Luann Frampton of Valdosta, Lindy and Dave Stewart of Lakeland, GA. her beloved pet, Hagen.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, April 23, 2016 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Alford officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
