Austin Horace Parkerson, Jr.

AUSTIN HORACE PARKERSON , JR., 84, of Lake Park died Thursday, March 16, 2006 at his home. He was born in Pitts, Georgia on January 13, 1922 to the late Austin Horace, Sr. and Maggie Pearl Simmons Parkerson and had lived in Lowndes County for many years. Mr. Parkerson owned and operated a grocery store for many years and was a Baptist. Mr. Parkerson was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in World War II and a member of the Belles and Beaux Square Dancing.

Survivors include three daughters and sons in law, Ginny and Ernie Wooten of Sanford, NC., Shirley and Norman Sainz, Elaine and Jerry Bellflower all of Valdosta, one son and daughter in law, Tommy and Teresa Parkerson of Lake Park, his grandchildren and their spouses, Michelle Wooten Duncan and Ron Duncan, Dr. Teresa Wooten-Daily and Dave Daily, Christopher and Angela Wooten, Ty Sainz, Leslie Sainz, Jessica Bellflower, Jeremy Bellflower, Chad and Laura Parkerson, Trent and Michelle Parkerson, Spence and Sabrina Parkerson, six great grandchildren, five sisters, Marjorie Wallace of Marietta, Edna Clayton of Waco, TX., Thelma Taylor of Live Oak, Fla., Ernestine Winters of Stuart, Fla., and Lois Roundtree of Pitts, close brother in law, Hoover McDonald of Valdosta, a special niece, Debbie Reagan of Valdosta and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Wynelle Guest Parkerson and three sisters, Dora Belle Farr, Catherine Smith and Adaloyd Terry.

Funeral services will be held at 4pm, Sunday, March 19, 2006 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Luke officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
