Audrey C. Mcghin

Audrey C. McGhin, 85, of Valdosta died Friday, September 17, 2010 at her home. She was born on October 27, 1924 in Nashville, Georgia to the late John Irvin and Alice Gray Cooper and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. McGhin was a member of the Northside Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School and was active in the Joy Makers. She was retired from the W. T. Grant Company as the credit manager and also had worked as a switchboard operator at South Georgia Medical Center.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Wallace Gaskins, Jr. and Elizabeth Gaskins of Lake Park, five grandchildren, Angela (Pip) Roberts, Greg Fielding all of Lake Park, Deborah (Jeff) Moss of Valdosta, Nancy (Tony) Carter, Wallace Gaskins, III all of Lake Park, 8-great grandchildren, Weston Roberts, Derric Fielding, Justin Fielding, Matthew Moss, Olivia Moss, Connie Carter, Cody Carter and Celeste Gaskins, three great great grandchildren, Addison Fielding and Jayden Carter and Ashlynn Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph McGhin and a daughter, Sandra Fielding.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, September 20, 2010 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-6pm at the funeral home.
