Audra Chapman Guess passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021, at her residence. Before she passed, she wrote her own story.
Mrs. Guess was born to the late Edward James Chapman and Elizabeth Walker Chapman on December 22, 1924 in Valdosta, GA. She graduated from Valdosta High School in 1942, and attended Massey Business College Jacksonville, FL. Mrs. Guess worked as secretary a at Moody Air Force Base from 1943-1945. She married William Roy Guess on May 18, 1941 and moved to Miami, FL, in 1951 where she worked as secretary and bookkeeper for General Electric and the AFA Corporation. She retired in 1980 and her husband retired from Pam American Airlines. They traveled in a motor home for a year then moved back to Valdosta in 1980. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church, and a member of Surviving Spouse of Pearl Harbor Survivors Association.
Audra was preceded in death by her parents Edward James Chapman and Elizabeth Walker Chapman, her husband of 63 years William Roy Guess, Sr., son William Roy Guess, Jr., grandson Scott Edward Guess of Miami, FL.
Audra is survived by a special nephew Alan Simpson, a special friend Debbie Griffin.
