Aubrey George Hurtt

Aubrey George Hurtt, 84, of Valdosta died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Dekalb County, Alabama on April 25, 1927 to the late Amos Alexander Hurtt and Minnie Mae Brock Hurtt. Mr. Hurtt was an upholsterer with Larry's Upholstery and was an active member of Greenwood Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping, loved his family, his friends, his church and Sunday school class. Mr. Hurtt was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Jessie Hesters Hurtt of Valdosta, four daughters and sons in law, Virginia Gray King and Jim King of Sparks, Rebecca Eason and Richie McClanahan and Kimberly and Jeff Power of Atlanta, Susan and Jerry Cozart of Tampa, two sons, Hubert Hurtt of Arizona and James Harrell Hurtt, twelve grandchildren, Michael Hurtt, Michele Hurtt, Jeffrey Hurtt, Karen Beasley (Brent), Craig Siska, Greg Siska, Cynthia Siska, Jerry Cozart, Jr. (Stacy), Stacey Franklin (Glen), Shannon McClanahan, Joshua McClanahan (Misty) and Patricia Power, thirteen great grandchildren, Ashley Hurtt, Heather Hurtt, Faith Hurtt, Kacey Siska, Tyler Siska, Andrea Siska, Sammie Siska, Justin Siska, Austin Siska, Jeremiah Eason, Alyssa Eason, Christina McLarty and Nicholas McClanahan, three great great grandchildren, Braylon J. Eason, Kason Rentz and Kaleb Rentz, special adopted Patsy Godwin and Alfred Lupo. He is preceded in death by one son, Junior Eason, one grandson, Roger Dale Allman, three sisters, Jenelle Glass, Wanda Johnson and Peggy Entrokin, two brothers, J. W. Hurtt and Thomas Braxton Hurtt,

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at two p. m. at Greenwood Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Willis, Dr. Clyde Stokes and Reverend Michael Bass officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from five until seven p. m. at the funeral home.
