Atlee Eugene Cain

Atlee Eugene Cain, 82, of Valdosta passed away on March 6, 2023 at the Pruitt Rehabilitation Center in Valdosta.

Atlee was born on November 11, 1940 in Kingsport, TN, son of the late Alvin and Arbuta (Dickson) Cain and was also predeceased by his beloved wife Lois Patsy (Bishop) Cain.

Golf was among Atlee’s many interests in life (especially at Frances Lake, Stone Creek and Circle Stone.) He also never passed up an opportunity to go to a casino. He loved going to Biloxi, Mississippi, every chance he got to gamble. Atlee made many memorable trips to Tampa, FL to the Hard Rock Casino. He often enjoyed trips to Daytona Beach with family.

Atlee is survived by a son Mark Cain and wife Wendy of Valdosta; a daughter Karen Cain-Taylor and husband Don of Forsyth, GA; five grandchildren, Aaron Cain and wife Rebecca, Stacy Toler and husband Lee, Shelton Cain, Celeste Taylor and Kristi Taylor; two great grandchildren, Maddox Cain and Stella Taylor; a daughter-in-law, Julie Cain (wife of Stephen Cain, deceased) of Valdosta, GA and her two daughters, Heather and Ashley Strickland; caregiver and friend, Brenda Clark, as well and numerous friends.

Besides his dear wife Patsy, Atlee was predeceased by two sons Derrick and Stephen Cain as well as a sister Donna Lee Taylor.

A visitation will be held at Carson McLane Funeral Home from 5-7pm on Thursday, March 9, 2023 with a funeral service beginning at 7pm. Reverend Clyde Stokes will officiate. Condolences may be made online at www.mclanecares.com.
